Kwando River at Camp Kwando

Discover Authentic Nature

ABOUT US

"Where the river whispers stories and time slows to the rhythm of nature."

A LITTLE PIECE OF PARADISE

Nestled along the banks of the Kwando River, in Namibia's Zambezi Region, our lodge offers an unforgettable escape into the wild heart of Africa.

The moment you step onto the grounds, something shifts. The air carries the sweet perfume of Frangipani blossoms. Jacaranda trees paint purple shadows on the earth. The distant call of a Fish Eagle reminds you—this is no ordinary place.

Welcome to the Lodge

Upon check-in at the main lodge building, you'll be welcomed with a refreshing complimentary drink. Just past reception, discover the bar and dining area, leading to a spacious wooden T-Deck overlooking the river with panoramic views of Botswana's majestic dunes.

Evening Gatherings

In the evening, guests gather around the inviting lounge chairs at the bar or enjoy outdoor seating with a crackling fire. This central meeting point is perfect for engaging conversations, or quiet reflections as you watch the flames dance or gaze at the countless stars in the southern hemisphere sky.

Sustainability

AN ECO-RESPONSIBLE SITE!

For nearly 20 years, Camp Kwando has embraced a philosophy of gradually implementing measures that make the lodge increasingly neutral in terms of its impact on the surrounding environment and more ECO-RESPONSIBLE AND SELF-SUFFICIENT in renewable resources, in a respectful and harmonious exchange with neighboring communities.

95% Solar Energy

Solar panels and vacuum tube solar collectors now produce 95% of the electricity and most of the hot water needed to operate the lodge. Every small action counts, especially for a hospitality structure welcoming up to 10,000 guests annually. That's why individual packaging and plastic straws have been entirely banned and replaced with locally made sustainable containers and biodegradable straws made of paper or bamboo.

Organic Garden

The lodge's vegetable garden receives year-round care and produces much of the fruits and vegetables served in the restaurant, avoiding the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. It thrives thanks to compost made from the lodge's plant waste or bought from local villagers.
